Over the course of two years, beginning in September 2008, the Insight Fellows, based in New York City and Washington, D.C., experienced three six-month field placements in the Jewish communal sector. In addition to these placements, the fellowship included a week-long orientation, an educational trip to Israel, a retreat focusing on diversity in the Jewish community, monthly professional development seminars, a gathering focused on management skills, a service trip to Seattle and a concluding retreat in Vancouver, BC. The program also offered support and training for the fellow’s placement supervisors and celebratory gatherings to conclude each placement.
