Ann Raskin — Director of Operations

I have worked in the fields of leadership development, community development and urban planning.  Each of these complementary fields have fostered in me a deep appreciation for the positive impact that individuals can have in shaping the world and building strong and healthy organizations and communities.

Previous to joining the CLI team, I was a Social Planner with the City of Vancouver. My work included facilitating community dialogue processes, distributing grants to local non-profit organizations and involving citizens (with a particular focus on youth and young adults) in creating a livable, vibrant and sustainable city. I previously worked with the International Institute for Child Rights and Development, where I partnered with community organizations and local government officials across the country to develop tools and techniques to increase social inclusion among young Canadians in municipal government. I have also held positions with the Concerned for Working Children as a community development planner – a national Child Rights organization based in Bangalore, India. I hold a Master’s degree in Community and Regional Planning from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts in International Development.

Originally from Nova Scotia, I made my way to the west coast over ten years ago and currently live in Squamish, BC. I am a nut for hanging in the mountains and going fast on my snowboard and mountain bike.
