1) Who is an ideal Kivun Intensive participant? What are you looking for in your applications?
In addition to meeting the basic eligibility requirements, ideal Kivun Intensive participants...
- Are thoughtful, insightful, curious and passionate about the world around them;
- Have shareable skills, diverse experiences and unique perspectives that would strengthen the Kivun cohort;
- Are open and excited to learn, and value a good sense of humor; and
- Have visions for the future of the Jewish communal sector.
2) How will I be different after this program?
After completing the five-month program, you will have a clearer sense of where you stand on your career path, the challenges you face along with a plan of how to address them, the skills you have to offer, and a peer network that will support you over the course of your professional and personal journey in the Jewish communal world. You will be more skilled, more networked, and will be recognized as a top trained professional in the Jewish community.
3) What's a "webinar"?
"Webinar" is short for "web-based seminar." This is essentially an online training session that combines visual aids, audio, chat and other new media tools. You don't need any fancy gadgets to participate - just a computer and a phone. In the Kivun Intensive, we use webinars to thread professional development and conversation throughout the program, even when we're not all in the same geographical location.
4) I'm older than 27. Can I apply to the Kivun Intensive?
Sorry, no. You have to be 27 years old or younger at the time of application. The age cut-off is in place to ensure that all participants are in similar stages of career development. The Kivun Intensive focuses specifically on individuals who are relatively early in their career trajectories, the skills they require, and the challenges they face. 5) What does the $500 fee cover? What happens if my organization can't afford the fee?
The $500 fee contributes to the cost of the program, which includes travel, accommodations, food and materials. There are a limited number of stipends available to participants on a case by case basis. If you would like to request a stipend, please email
